Sorrow's Furnace Run
Led By Peter, On Friday 2010-10-01 @ 21h GMT

Hello, I'm going to do SF this Friday, October 1st, 2010. I hope 21h GMT will be good for most people (US & EU). I also hope that there will be some interest. If not, I'll do it alone anyways. I'm not sure if it'll be NM or HM, since it's just a quest chain (so no extra rewards for HM, except loot).

If you want to tag along, leave a message after the beep.

*beep*

We Americans don't know this GMT stuff. If I'm around, I'll be down for the run. Sorrow's is fun to do every once in a while.

Maybe I could scramble and finish up my Black Moa chick scavenger items before then. Still need one of those undedicated to add to my second account's HoM.

I used GMT, because I though everyone knows it. Do you know Zulu time then? Or UTC? They're just funny names for GMT.

Well, next time I'll post times in all the "popular" time zones then.

New York is ET (that is GMT-4 or -5, depending on daylight saving).

EST in winter, GMT-5;
EDT in summer, GMT-4.

So the run is at 05:00 PM EDT.

Well, shit. I've been using "EST" for all of the times I give no matter what time of year it is. I need to remember to change it up to "EDT" when the clocks move. Maybe I'll just use "Eastern U.S. Time" or something and avoid the hassle.

That's why I suggest UTC (GMT, Zulu time), because that one never chances. Though you still have to adjust it to your time because of the daylight savings bullshit.

Maybe we could add clocks to the forums for the "most popular" time zones, like EST, PST, UTC, so everyone knows. But anyhow when I'll mention a time, I'll list the appropriate EST and PST times too.

That's something worth looking into.

Black Moa Chick Scavenger Hunt:

Here is the link to the Official Guild Wars Wiki's Black Moa Chick Scavenger Hunt page:

http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Black_Moa_Chick

I'm going to try and collect the rest of the materials for the Black Moa Chick that I need over the next couple of days. Just thought I'd post the Scavenger Hunt link in case anyone else who wants to do Sorrow's was interested in working towards the Black Moa Chick mini.

EDIT: Goddamn Juni Berries. Last time I did this scavenger hunt I got the Juni Berries on my original Monk who has long since been deleted. I'll have to see if I have that quest on any other characters and if not get it. Other than that, it seems like I have most of the stuff already. Not sure which character I want to do Sorrow's with just yet.

I was thinking about the Moa and I already have some of the stuff collected, so why not?

They worth around 20-30k. Who the hell sells them for such low prices? The hassle to get it worth much more than 20-30k IMHO.

I'm going to have to skip out on the Sorrow's run, at least this time. Maybe next time. I just can't get up the interest or motivation for playing GW with the guild in the state that it is in. For the foreseeable future, any free time I have to spend on Guild Wars or this guild has to be spent on getting some active people in here and turning it around.

Update: I did SF on Friday, though no one else came. I still had a good time. Forgot to screenshot it (so it didn't happen, right?).

I now have a Black Moa Chick!

The funny thing is, I never actually see ppl doing SF, but last week, I wanted to invite a friend of mine to DoA and he couldn't come, because he was in SF. Then on Thursday I saw someone in the ally chat who sought ppl for SF.

The Iron Forgeman is the Zaishen Bounty for October 16th. (That's a Saturday.) If nothing else is going on, I might try and get people together that day for a BYOB Sorrow's Run just for the hell of it.

According to The Official HoM Rewards Calculator, I have never added in the Sorrow's Furnace monument. I think I did it not too long ago but simply haven't added it in. I'll have to look on my chars. If I don't have it on someone to add already, most definitely on the 16th when The Iron Forgeman is the bounty, The Iron Forgeman will be my bitch.
